The Real you…

First impressions are misleading. Life teaches lovers in training that the representatives met when dating rarely sustain their consistency. Time proves anything that shines can dull and words without action is a husk. The moment reminds us that hearts speak and the warmth of a potential can give one chills. Timing: When opportunity has a name and the past has no reason to call you back. It’s Gods clock…not ours.

Many know of you—I want to know the real you.

What do you hear in your silence? What do you see in the dark? Who do you see in your mirror? Who are you when no is looking? Who are you when love stares you straight in the face?

When was the last time you lost yourself between the pages? What do you hold on to when you need to be held? Do you pray for things or people? What will Heaven say when you show up at its gate? Who will you meet there? Who did you help get there?

Is there room in your future that can be shared? With me? Do your memories haunt you?  Will your past be there waiting to greet me?

I am not here to surf the surface. I’m not going to dive in. Each day—if given the chance—I’m willing to descend until your soul and mine are no longer acquaintances. By then these questions and more will be answered and I will know…the real you.

Perfectly out. However the road to the real you may chase some away. So do we tell it all, or omit the possible dealbreakers?

Maybe to truly love someone is know the “good, bad, and ugly things about them but still choose to love them, and maybe even more.
